2 cups milk
1/2 teaspoon ground turmeric
1/4 teaspoon ground ginger
1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1–2 teaspoons honey or maple syrup (to taste)
Pinch of black pepper
1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)

In a small saucepan, whisk together all ingredients.
Heat over medium-low until hot and steamy, stirring occasionally. Do not boil.
