Vanilla Chai Latte
A creamy, spiced tea latte with a soft hit of vanilla — comforting, cozy, and basically what you want in your hands when it’s cold and gray outside.
🕒 Total Time:
Prep: 5 minutes
Cook: 10 minutes
Total: 15 minutes
🛒 Grocery List:
Black tea bags (like Assam or English Breakfast)
Whole milk or dairy-free alternative (oat milk works beautifully)
Vanilla extract
Honey or maple syrup
Ground spices: cinnamon, ginger, cardamom, cloves, black pepper
(or a pre-made chai spice blend — no shame in that shortcut)
✨ Ingredients (Serves 2):
2 cups milk (or alt milk of choice)
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
1–2 tablespoons honey or maple syrup (to taste)
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon ground ginger
1/8 teaspoon ground cardamom
Pinch of ground cloves and black pepper
🥄 Instructions:
In a small saucepan, heat the milk over medium heat until warm and steamy (not boiling).
Add the tea bags and all the spices. Reduce heat to low and let it steep for 5–7 minutes — enough time for the flavors to get cozy with each other.
Remove tea bags, stir in the vanilla and sweetener of your choice.
Give it a quick whisk or froth if you want that café-style texture (you do).
Pour into mugs, sprinkle a little cinnamon on top if you’re feeling fancy, and enjoy immediately..
💡 Tip:
Shortcut alert: You can make this with a high-quality chai tea bag and just add milk + vanilla + sweetener. It’s not cheating — it’s efficient coziness.
Also: froth half the milk separately if you want that latte foam without a fancy machine.
